The Carbon High School swim team competed in their first meet of the season on Nov. 8 as they hosted Spanish Fork and Payson.

Carbon High head swimming coach Kamera Davis said the team brought in a lot of new swimmers this season after losing a large group from last year's squad.

"Before the season started I was a little worried because we lost 20 swimmers from last year and I only knew of a few freshman that were coming in," said Davis. "I was shocked to see the number of swimmers I ended up with. Some knew how to swim a little and some we have started from scratch but all of these swimmers have worked hard to learn and I am looking forward to a fun season."
