An auto-pedestrian collision claimed of the life of a Price man Saturday night after he was struck by a late model Dodge coupe in front of the Maverick Country Store on the east end of Price's Main Street.

According to Price City Police Capt. Bill Barnes, Max Moody was pronounced dead on arrival at Castleview Hospital just after 8:30 p.m. He was transported by Carbon Medical personnel from the scene at 891 East Main.

Barnes did not have an age on Moody but stated that additional information about the entire investigation would be coming forward soon.

"At this point it looks like the people driving the vehicle were at no fault in this accident," said Barnes.

Moody was reportedly walking north west prior to the incident and had stopped in the Maverick parking lot, said a pair of witnesses who saw the victim minutes before the collision.

Price Police blocked off Main Street from the Castle Rock Square to 700 East to collect evidence and begin their investigation.

According to Barnes, in addition to city police and county deputies, the Utah State Medical Examiner will play a part in the investigation of Moody's death.
