With nothing to lose, Dinos look to shock rival Emery

When playing your rival, everything, including records, gets thrown out the window.

For the Carbon High football team, going into the rivalry game with Emery High with a clean slate may be just what the team needs after a rough 0-9 season.

While the Emery High Spartans are looking to clinch a spot in the 3A state playoffs, the Dinos can make things a little more difficult for their rivals. Emery and Union are currently both 1-3 in Region 12 play. If Emery wins, they will secure a spot in the playoffs. However if they lose and Union defeats Grantsville, then Union would get the spot in the playoffs. Emery would hold the tiebreaker between the two teams after defeating Union 41-21 on Sept. 27.

Carbon and Emery last played on Sept. 10, 2010 as Emery came away with a 53-6 victory.
