Several Carbon High athletes are preparing for the finish to their seasons or putting in the last minute work in anticipation for a state meet.

The Carbon High Cross Country team will be heading up to Salt Lake City for the 3A State Meet on Wednesday, Oct. 23. Both the boys and girls teams qualified for the state meet after each posting a fourth place finish among Region 12 teams at region meet in Payson on Oct. 15.

For Carbon High's Garrett Marsing, it will be the final opportunity of his high school cross country career to leave a bigger mark on the CHS record books and possibly put his name in among the best runners in 3A and all across the state.

For the Carbon High volleyball team, a strong finish over their final two games would help in preparing the team for a shot at the 3A state playoffs.

After defeating Payson at home last Tuesday, the Lady Dinos will travel to Juab on Tuesday, Oct. 22 for their final away game before returning home to host Richfield in their final game of the season on Oct. 24 at 6:30 p.m. The Lady Dinos are currently 3-3 in Region 12 play and 7-11 overall and find themselves in a fight for second or third place with Juab.
