PRICE - Our loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend, Bessie E. Hatzidakis May, age 83, passed away peacefully Oct. 14, 2013 at Parkdale Care Center in Price.
She was born Jan. 1, 1930 in Hanea, Crete, Greece to The Rev. Efstathios and Argyro Verganelakis Hatzidakis.
Married Emanuel W. May June 22, 1952 in Price. He died Nov. 7, 1997.
Bessie had a great love for her church The Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Greek Orthodox Church. She enjoyed cooking and entertaining people. She especially loved her children and grandchildren. Bessie had a special place in her heart for her many nieces and nephews. Bessie will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Survived by her children, Harriet May, Salt Lake City, Steven May, Price, Sylvia (Scott) Sorensen, Salt Lake City, Helen (Rick) Jacobs, Layton, Steven (Dawn) Hatzidakis, Crestwood, KY; sister, Katherine Bouvier, Salt Lake City; sister-in-law, Mary Hatzidakis, Riverside, Calif.; seven grandchildren.
Preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, James, Mike, and The Rev. Gust Hatzidakis.
Funeral service, Monday, Oct. 21, 2013, 11 a.m. Assumption Greek Orthodox Church. Family will receive friends Sunday and Monday one hour prior to service at Mitchell Funeral Home. Committal, Price City Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to Mitchell Funeral Home of Price where friends are always welcome daily and may share memories of Bessie online at www.mitchellfuneralhome.net. In lieu of flowers the family suggest donations be made to the Assumption Greek Orthodox Church in Price.
