On a rainy, muddy football field with bone-chilling weather in the air, it seemed not much could go right for the Carbon High football team on their Homecoming night.

Union High scored on their first offensive play, a 74-yard touchdown pass, and never looked back as they rolled to a 49-0 win over the Dinos.

Union added 28 more points before halftime on plays including runs of 28, 6 and 1 yards and a pass play of 30 yards, to take a commanding 35-0 lead into halftime.

Union, 4-4 overall and 1-3 Region 12, added 14 more points in the fourth quarter, including one touchdown within the final 10 seconds of the game to pick up their first Region 12 victory of the season.

Carbon High's scoreless streak was extended to six games, as the Dinos have yet to score a point of any kind since a 28-14 loss to American Leadership Academy on Aug. 30.

For the Dinos, 0-8 overall and 0-4 Region 12, their attention now turns to one final home game against Richfield on Wednesday, Oct. 16 at 7 p.m.
