HELPER - Our loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother and friend, James Vincent Bruno, age 76 passed away peacefully Oct. 12, 2013 at his home in Helper.
He was born May 9, 1937 in the family home in Helper to Michael and Annie Evalyn Prazza Bruno.
Married Claudia Jean Ball Bruno on Aug. 24, 1957 in Carmichael, Calif. James and Claudia renewed their wedding vows on their 25th and 50th wedding anniversaries.
James enjoyed camping, fishing, painting and drag racing with his son. He especially loved spending time with his family. His greatest love next to his wife was his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. James had a big heart and was willing to help anyone and everyone. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Survived by his loving wife, Claudia Bruno, Helper; children, Anthony Bruno, Joseph (Anna) Bruno, both of Helper; sisters and brother, Josephine (Rex) Miller, Carmichael, Calif., Mary Ann (Steve) Niephoth, Rocklin, Calif., Michael (Karla) Bruno, Byron, GA; grandson, Christopher Michael Beal, Helper; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; two step great-grandchildren.
Preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Elizabeth Ann Bruno.
Funeral Mass, Thursday, Oct. 17, 2013, 10 a.m. St. Anthony Catholic Church, Helper. Vigil service, Wednesday evening 7 p.m. St. Anthony Catholic Church, Helper. Family will receive friends Wednesday and Thursday one hour prior to service. Arrangements entrusted to Mitchell Funeral Home of Price where friends are always welcome daily and may share memories of James online at www.mitchellfuneralhome.net.
