Carbon agencies to hold domestic violence 5K run

Carbon County Recreation and the area's Domestic Violence Coalition have come together for the fifth time this to raise funds and spread awareness about scourge of domestic violence.

On Oct. 5, the "Choose to Cherish:Survivors and Advocates 5th Annual 5K Run/Walk Away From Domestic Violence," will once again bring the Castle Valley community together to assist those who have been traumatized by the epidemic of domestic violence.

"We use this event and the funds it raises to help all local domestic violence victims," said run/walk organizer Denna Fausett.

The event will begin at the Price City Peace Gardens at 8:30 a.m. on Oct. 5. The entry fee is $5, however, families can register together for $25. Event T-shirts can also be obtained for $5.

Those wanting to participate must sign up at the Carbon County Recreation Office at 30 East 200 South in Price.

There will be a shorter route offered to those who do not want to run the entire 5K.
