Former Carbon High School graduate Anthony Compagni was recently listed in a book compiling some of the best chefs in America.

The book, Best Chefs America, listed chefs across the country that were chosen as the best by their peers.

Compagni, who lives and works in Oklahoma, was one of 25 chefs in Oklahoma named to the list.

Currently Compagni is the executive chef and partner of a restaurant in Norman, Okla., called Benvenuti's Ristorante which has been open since 2005.

"I was very excited to hear about being included among the best chefs of America," said Compagni. "It is a great honor."
