DWR will stock fish for Kids' Fishing Days

The Division of Wildlife Resources will stock two water bodies with rainbow trout for Kids' Fishing Days in September.

The events will be held at the Huntington Game Farm Pond in Huntington and at Green River State Park in Green River.

The events are free. Children under 12 years old don't need a license to fish. Those 12 and older need licenses. DWR personnelwill be available to provide individual instruction. If you don't have your own fishing equipment, the DWR will provide rods, reels and bait. Kids under 14 years old will also be eligible for prizes.

For all participants, the limit is two fish.

At Green River State Park, the event will be held on Sept. 14, from 9 a.m. to noon. For more information about the Green River fishing day, call Walt Maldonado, DWR regional volunteer coordinator, at 435-820-8147.

The Huntington Game Farm Pond event will be held Sept. 21, from 8 to 11 a.m. For more information about that event, call Brent Stettler, DWR regional conservation outreach manager, at 435-613-3707.
