Goblin Valley State Park will host a moonlight geocache quest Aug. 24 at 8 p.m.

Participants will test their GPS skills and compete to win prizes while maneuvering through sandstone hobgoblins guarding troves of secret stashes.

Veteran and novice geocachers alike are encouraged to participate in this new nighttime event. Participants should bring a GPS unit, a pen or pencil, a pad of paper and drinking water. Teams will be sent to the start of the course 10 minutes apart. Moderate hiking is required to complete the course.

A grand prize of an overnight stay in one of Goblin Valley's yurts will be awarded to the team that completes the geocache quest course in the shortest amount of time.
