EAST CARBON - Mary Alice Collins , age 92, passed away peacefully on July 27, 2013 with her loving daughter and care giver Darlene at her side.
A long time resident of East Carbon and at the time of her passing Jacksonville, Fla. She was born July 7, 1921 in Clinton, Ind., to Janet (Nisbet) and Robert Wilson. She was raised in Rock Springs, Wyo., and graduated from Reliance Wyoming High in 1940. She also attended the Albany Beauty College in Laramie, Wyo.
Mary Alice and Harold Collins were married Oct. 12, 1940 and moved to East Carbon in 1951. She worked as a hair stylist for several years in her home, then opened the House of Beauty working with her daughter until retirement.
She is survived by her son Bob (Gena) Collins, daughter Darlene Kuhns, grandsons Robert (George Orozco) Collins, Michael Collins, Gary (Lorna) Kuhns, Jeff (Kyle McGovern) Kuhns, five great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandson. Mary Alice was preceded in death by husband Harold, mother and father, in-laws John and Agnes Collins, sister Jayne, sisters-in-law Marge Collins, Donna Collins, brothers-in-law Jack Collins, Darwin Collins, Sherman Hicks.
