USFS has new maps for Manti-LaSal
The Manti-La Sal National Forest has published new visitor maps and is selling them at each of its offices in Ephraim, Ferron, Moab, Monticello and Price. The vinyl-coated maps are full color and show features on the forest as well as adjacent land.
Two maps are available. One depicts the Ferron-Price and Sanpete districts on one side, with forest information on the back. The other shows the Moab District on one side and the Monticello District on the back. A limited number of unfolded maps are available.
The maps are not intended to replace the Motor Vehicle Use Maps (MVUM), which are updated annually and show all official motorized routes on the forest. Because travel rules are based on the current MVUM, it is best to use it with the visitor map when deciding where motorized travel is allowed. The MVUM is free to the public. The Forest Visitor Map is $10 and is also available online at the National Forest Store http://www.fs.fed.us/recreation/nationalforeststore/.
