Red Cross schedules blood drives in Price
Summer might be drawing to a close, but the need for blood is constant. With Labor Day weekend just around the corner, a time when many blood donors may be vacationing, the American Red Cross reminds eligible individuals that they can donate blood every 56 days.
"Donating blood is especially important during the summer months when many donors take vacations," said John Benton, donor recruitment representative for central Utah. "The need for blood doesn't take a vacation, which makes it important for those eligible to donate regularly."
Red Cross blood drive at the County Fair last week. There will be two more in Price during August:
At the Price Utah North Stake, 449 North 100 East on August 21 from 3:00 - 8:00 PM.
At the Price Utah Stake, 150 South 500 East on August 28 from 3:00 - 8:00 PM.
Donor eligibility involves minimum age, weight and health requirements, and presentation of a donor card or positive ID upon donation. Blood has a shelf life of only 42 days so every donation counts.
