Flash flood hits Mead's Wash

A torrential rainstorm north of Price Thursday turned Mead's Wash into a surging river of mud at least ten feet high. The flood was more than the newly-installed culvert and road at 700 East 200 South could handle. Muddy water folded the exposed culvert, tore away the embankment and seriously undermined the dirt road overhead. The road and culvert are part of the new Eastgate apartments being built just east of the damaged area. Mud also spilled out of the wash and covered 800 North street near 1100 East.
