After two tough losses at home, the Price American Legion squad picked a pair wins at the Rangely tournament this past weekend, pulling even with Olympus in league standings.

In double header action vs Herriman on July 10, Price went down 7-2 in the first game. Steven Zamantakis pitched all seven innings with a Kenyon Crisp double and Caden Sherman RBI providing the offense.

The evening's rubber game saw Price pick up their offense with double by Crisp, Chris Smith and John Grasso. Team errors were an issue however as the final score tallied 11-5.

Grasso tossed the game's first two innings with Sherman coming on to finish the game.

The legion squad traveled to the Rangely Invitational Tournament over the weekend, exhibiting tough pitching and solid hitting throughout.

The tournament's ice breaker was a nail biter of a game that saw Price go down 3-2, despite a pitching gem by Brendon Johnson. Kellen Trujillo had a double providing the team's biggest offensive burst.

Price trounced Moab 9-2 in their second contest of the tournament as another solid outing by Sherman on the mound held Moab to a pair of runs. Price's bats were on fire as Chris Smith racked up four singles, Zac Hathaway had three and Ethan Tuttle pounded a double.

The teams winning ways continued vs Uintah. With the game tied a four after seven innings of play, Price bats exploded again, pouring five more runs on route to a 9-5 victory. Sherman and Trujillo both tripled in the eighth inning to go along with a Smith double.

Allowing only one run after the seventh, Hathaway pitched a complete game, securing the win for his team.

Price hit a wall against Rangely in the tourney's final contest as errors cost the Carbon County ballers a chance at one more W.

The legion squad finished fourth out of eight teams at the out-of-state tournament.

Price will play next on July 19 with their opponent to be announced.
