Jazz's DeMarre Carroll to appear in Price on June 18
Carbon County youth will have an opportunity to see an NBA star up close in Price next week.
The Utah Jazz in conjunction with Carbon County Recreation will host the annual player appearance on Tuesday, June 18 at 1:30 p.m. at the Bunnell-Dmitrich Athletic Center. This year's player appearance will be by DeMarre Carroll.
Carroll just finished his fourth year in the NBA and his second with the Utah Jazz. He played in 66 games for the Jazz last season and started 12 games. He averaged 6 points and 3 rebounds per game. He graduated from Missouri in 2008 with a bachelor's degree in human and organizational development. Earned the nickname "Junkyard Dog" because of his intense work ethic. He led John Carroll Catholic High School (Birmingham, Ala.) to two straight state championships (2003 and 2004) and became the first player in the history of the school to have his jersey (No. 32) retired during a ceremony in Aug. 2009.
