SUNNYSIDE - Cathy Lopez Aragon Gibson, age 62, passed away June 10, 2013 at LDS Hospital in Salt Lake City.
She was born March 2, 1951 in Dragerton to Cato and Mary Archuleta Lopez. Cathy married Abel J. Aragon and to this union two beautiful daughters Donna and Brenda Lee were born. She later married Glen Gibson, they later divorced.
Cathy was a longtime resident of Carbon County and graduate of East Carbon High School. She had many jobs in her lifetime, but the job she enjoyed most was working at the state hospital in Provo, Utah. She loved life and lived it to the fullest. Cathy will be remembered best for her big hair, dark lipstick and driving fast cars with the music blaring to Rick James. She had a love for making jewelry, watching movies and playing pool on the local pool league. She loved all of her grandchildren the same and she really enjoyed texting with Vanessa. Her true love was the love she had for her pets, especially her dog Chula. Cathy had a huge heart and was there to help everyone whenever she could. She will be greatly missed by her friends and many loving family members.
Survived by two daughters, Donna (Ramon) Antillon, Delta, Colo., Brenda (Richard) Rodriguez, West Valley; four grandchildren, Vanessa, Abel, Fabian and John; three great grandchildren, Joseph, Maliyah and Michael; brother, Frank (Faye) Lopez, Albuquerque, N.M.; sister, Lydia (Joe) Soto, St. George; special sister-in-law, Elena Gonzales Robles, Price; many loving aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, Anthony, Bernie and Raymond Lopez.
Funeral service, Saturday, June 15, 2013, 10 a.m., Mitchell Funeral Home (233 East Main Street). Vigil service, Friday evening 7 p.m. Mitchell Funeral Home. Family will receive friends Friday and Saturday at Mitchell's one hour prior to services. Interment, Price City Cemetery.
