Helper continues strong start at tourney

The Helper American Legion Baseball team wasted no time in getting their 2013 season off to a hot start.

Helper traveled to Burley, Idaho for a three day tournament last week and came away with a 3-1 record that saw the team use a strong offense and tough pitching to come away with three wins.

Helper opened the tourney with an 11-1 win over Minico on June 6. They defeated Caldwell, ID 6-0 before falling to Pocatello, ID 5-3 on June 7. Helper bounced back with a 16-2 victory over Burley, ID.

Helper opened their season on June 5 with an 12-0 win over Murray.

Helper hosted Granger on Monday evening and they will play against Cyprus on Wednesday at 7 p.m. at the Helper American Legion Baseball Field.
