The Lady Dinos finished tied for fifth in the 3A State Tournament held at Schneiter's Riverside Golf Course last week. Carbon's team total of 286 was posted early and held for quite a while. But when the the smoke had cleared Desert Hills, true to form, came in with a team total of 337. Pine View finished in second with 305, Spanish Fork third with 292 and Snow Canyon edged out Carbon and Uintah by one at 287.

Hailey Kirkwood lead the team with a fantastic round of 83 making 78 points and missing All State honors by one shot. Braxton Gibson turned in a great round of 88 making 73 points. Katie Felice came in with a 93 for 68 points and Taylor Hammack shot 94 for 67 points. Kaydee Gilson and Kaycee Gilson rounded out the team with 57 and 56 points.

"It was quite a day. The girls were nervous and it took a few holes to find their pace, but when they did things started to happen," said CHS head coach Kenji Otani. "I am very proud of my team, at the first of the season they made a goal of a top 5 finish at State and they were true to their word. Now the girls have decided it is time we win one. I can't wait for next season."
