Reverend Roy A. Miller, 89, Powell, Wyo., passed away on May 10, 2013.
Roy was born in Blunt, S.D., on March 9, 1924 the only son of Arthur and Della Edge Miller. He attended elementary school in Blunt, S.D., and graduated from Rewey High School in Rewey, Wis. He was a graduate of Chicago Evangelistic Bible College.
Throughout his forty-two years in the ministry Roy served Methodist congregations in Fosston, Erskine, Kenyon, and Nerstrand, Minnesota, including the Pine Bend Chippewa Mission; in addition to Price; Rock Springs, Wyo; and Copperton. He also held positions on numerous community organizations including Public Library boards, the Boys Scouts of America, and Senior Citizen boards. He retired to Powell, Wyoming in 1999 to spend time with family.
Roy is survived by his wife of over 63 years, D. Rosalie Miller; sons Mark Miller (Martha), Rock Springs, Wyo; John Miller (Teresa), Powell, Wyo., and daughter Karen Brown (Jimmy), Belton, S.C.; grandchildren: Sharon Miller Laubach (Eric), Paul Miller, Allison Miller, Elizabeth Brown Bateman (Brian), D.J. Brown, Nathan Miera, Heidi Hayes, and Justin Hayes; great grandchildren: Cassandra Laubach, Aaron Laubach, Alexis Miera and Sami Buono; sister Dorothy Gardenier, Madison, Wis; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his parents, Roy was preceded in death by three sisters and a brother-in-law.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 25 at 2 p.m. at the Powell First United Methodist Church. Memorial donations may be made to the church of your choice in Roy's name.
