With the picture of serviceman Roman Vega at the end of the table young artists from St. Anthony's School in Helper prepare cards and notes.

In the photo below students at St. Anthony's School in Helper were busy preparing cards for Sergeant Roman Vega, an 11 year veteran serving as a supply sergeant in the third Infantry Division in Kuwait.

The 1991 graduate of Carbon High School is the son of Isabel and Roman Vega from Helper. Although his mother, Isabel, has not heard from her son since the war in Iraq began she has heard from Roman's wife, Catherine, who is also in the military and is stationed in Germany.

Twenty students from the religious school, grades K through 12 worked on the cards that were sent to Roman.
