Under the bright sunshine on a baseball field at Stansbury High School, the Carbon High Dinos put together two of their most complete games all season long to advance in the winner's bracket of the 3A state baseball tournament on Saturday.

The Dinos defeated Juan Diego 6-5 in the morning before shutting out Dixie High 5-0 in the afternoon game to win the Stansbury regional. The Dinos advanced to play Desert Hills on Thursday, May 16 at 11 a.m. at Utah Valley University.

"The guys deserve to be where they are right now," CHS head coach Troy Moynier said after the Dinos defeated Dixie High. "We went out there today and beat two quality teams in Juan Diego and Dixie High."

Read Tuesday's edition of the Sun Advocate for reactions from the players and coaches as well as photos from the two games.

UPDATE: The 3A State Baseball Tournament has been moved from St. George to Utah Valley University.
