PRICE - Our dear sweet mother, grandmother, sister and friend, Allie Dee, slipped away peacefully into our Father in Heaven's hands on Saturday, May 4, 2013 after a courageous battle with cancer. With dignity intact and love for those who knew her, she says "goodbye for now, until we meet again".
She was born March 8, 1941 in Price to Darrell and Roma Singleton Norton. Allie spent her young life in Wellington on the farm where she worked and played and had tea parties with her Grandpa Lafe. She was a Primary teacher and a lifelong member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Allie was a good student and a graduate of Carbon High Class of 1959. She worked at Arctic Circle and Office Equipment until she met and married Ellis Pierce on Nov. 12, 1960.
During their marriage Ellis and Allie accomplished much, including raising their three children, Kim, Kris and Jason which she adored.
Ellis and Allie purchased a petroleum distributorship from Andy and Joan Anderson, and in 1972 they began Pierce Oil. They worked together with their children to build the business which is a staple in Carbon County to this day. Ellis and Allie worked hard and instilled the same principles in their children. Their marriage later ended.
Allie Dee was a classic beauty with an eye for style, elegance and perfection. She volunteered her time at schools, extracurricular events, and the Pink Lady Auxiliary where she made hundreds of floral arrangements to sell in the hospital gift shop.
Allie loved to make things beautiful and it was evident by her home and yard which was always immaculate.
Allie's love for her grandchildren was evident for all to see. They were her greatest joy, and brought a twinkle to her eyes. She worshiped them and they worshiped her. "We love you Grandma Allie".
Allie is survived by her daughters and son, Kim DeAnn (Lane) Martino, Kris DiAnn (Kevin) Mele, Jason Ellis (Sherry) Pierce; siblings, Marvin (Shannon) Evans, Arlette (Asay) Pierce, Dolye (Molly) Norton and Wade Norton; grandchildren, Danielle (Mark), Karlee, Chad, Jace, Brandt, Sarrah, Michael, Madison, Brookelynn, Kriselynn and Ashelynn.
Preceded in death by her parents.
The family is grateful to Rocky Mountain Hospice, Dr. Karen Radley, and Melanie Fausett for the exceptional care they provided.

Do you think the Utah Legislature should increase appropriations for public education in Utah beyond the current legislative trend in the past few years of funding only for growth in student population?
