Work continues at new Wellington park
Heavy excavation equipment has been busy at the old Knight-Ideal coal loadout site in Wellington. The 17 acre property is being transformed from an eyesore into a place for a new city park and urban fishing pond. The work is being overseen by the state's Abandoned Mine Reclamation Program. Before work began, the land was covered with junk coal and debris from the structures that had been there.
