By Nicole Thomas

Caring neighbors

On Oct.11 of last year, the Sun

Advocate printed a letter from me with the title: "Cones Not For Them".

It described, in brief, that two ladies had taken pine cones from my late mother, Carol Ann Adams, memorial tree--the cones were intended for my siblings to plant a 'Mom tree' of their own.

I am very pleased to report that one day, I noticed that my pine tree had 'grown' plenty of cones. Upon further inspection, I saw that these cones had been carefully returned to the tree by the use of fine green wires.

Thank you so much for printing my letter, and thanks to the anonymous 'tree angels'...I feel lucky to live in our community--we live in a place small in population, and big in heart and soul.
