The Emery County Sheriff's Office Search and Rescue Team recovered a body from the bottom of Eagle Canyon near I-70 Saturday afternoon. The body was turned over to the State Medical Examiner's Office.

An investigation was under way Monday but as of Sun Advocate deadline the department was not releasing information on the investigation or the identification of the victim.

Emergency Services dispatchers ran a search on a vehicle found abandoned off the interstate near the scene and found that it belonged to an out-of-state person who was reported missing/endangered.

The depth of Eagle Canyon is about 300 feet.
