PRICE - Our beloved Michael (Mike) Manzanares, age 55, passed peacefully March 26, 2013 at his home.
He was born July 5, 1957 in Moab, Utah to Arthur Manzanares and Florence Torres.
In the 1980's, Mike married Kathy Miera and together they raised their sons in Spanish Fork where Mike enjoyed coaching the boys in Little League. While residing in the area Mike worked as a crane operator for Pacific States for over twenty years. He was a dedicated worker who loved assisting others and working as a handyman and painter on the weekends.
When he wasn't at work, Mike could be found playing competitive softball. He was an unbelievable softball pitcher who will always be remembered for his outstanding pitching.
Mike enjoyed hunting, fishing, riding his Chopper and working as an extra on several movies that were filmed in Moab.
His home was open to anyone in need and it was a gathering place for all to enjoy. Mike will be dearly missed by his family and a community of friends.
He is survived by his mother, Florence Torres, Payson; wife, Kathy Manzanares, Tooele; sons, Duaine and Monaco Miera,Tooele; daughter, Jennifer Barnett, Fort Collins, Colo; nine grandchildren, Tyler, Jake, Ben, Louis, Joseph, Amryelle, Eli, Alexis and Austin; brothers and sisters, Bill (Monene) Manzanares, S. Jordan, Lee (Priscilla) Manzanares, Steven (Joann) Manzanares, Kenneth Manzanares, Christine (Benny) Herrera, all of Price; Julie Manzanares, Logan, Johnny Salazar, Price.
Mike was preceded in death by his father, Art Manzanares.
Funeral Mass, Tuesday, April 2, 2013, 10 a.m., Notre Dame de Lourdes Catholic Church. Vigil service, Monday evening 7 p.m., Mitchell Funeral Home. Family will be at Mitchell's Monday and Tuesday one hour prior to services. Committal service, Cliffview Cemetery, Price. Arrangements entrusted to Mitchell Funeral Home of Price where friends are welcome daily and may share memories of Mike online at www.mitchellfuneralhome.net.
