WELLINGTON - John Kit "Skip" Critchlow, age 63, passed away Tuesday, March 26, 2013.
He was born Dec. 17, 1949 in Price to Jay and Lois Brown Critchlow.
He was the second of five children, Paul, Francine (Scott) Henrie, Buff (Lisa), and Jaylene (Nick) Mahleres.
Skip was a graduate of Carbon High School class of 1968. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Skip lived in Carbon County for the majority of his life except for a brief time, from 1968-1970 where he resided in Southern Wyoming and Northern Colorado.
As a youth he learned farming, ranching and hunting and Skip was still active in these pursuits. He loved his family and enjoyed being a Dad and Grandpa and admired the good accomplishments of everyone. He supported and protected his family and was generous with praise.
He helped mine a lot of coal and spent some time on the drilling rigs. He welded beautifully and was successful in his agricultural endeavors.
He married Suzan Pilling in 1968, they later divorced in 2008. Together they had four wonderful children, Suzanne (Bill) Schnell, Connie (deceased in 1970), Jay Lee (Denise) Critchlow II and Jeana (Jonathan) Bergthold. Skip enjoyed his ten grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents and his daughter Connie.
Memorial Service Friday, March 29, 2013, 11 a.m., Mitchell Funeral Home. Family will be at Mitchell's one hour prior to services. Arrangements entrusted to Mitchell Funeral Home where friends can share memories of Skip at www.mitchellfuneralhome.net.
