Sun Advocate associate editor

Amanda Nicole Romano pleaded no contest to three counts of aggravated sexual abuse of a child Monday.

Seventh Judicial District Judge Douglas B. Thomas sentenced the 27-year-old Price woman to not less than 10 years at the Utah State Prison. Judge Thomas recommended that she serve her sentence in the sex offenders unit at the prison.

Romano also entered a guilty plea to child abuse involving physical injury, a Class A Misdemeanor that got a sentence of zero to one year.

The judge ordered the sentences to run concurrently.

As part of the plea agreement, the Carbon County Attorney's office agreed to ask for dismissal of five counts of object rape of a child, five counts of sodomy on a child and one additional charge of aggravated sexual abuse of a child.

The judge dismissed those charges.
