PRICE - Our loving wife, mother, neighbor and co-worker, Karen Lynn Whaley Green, age 57, passed away March 14, 2013 after a courageous battle with cancer.
She was born in Moscow, Idaho on Sept. 16, 1955 to Bob and Virginia Swarthout Whaley.
Married Alan F. Green, Nov. 13, 1982 in Ogden.
Karen was one of the first female game wardens in the State of Utah, and the first to spend her entire career as such. She was highly respected among her peers and very proud of her work as a Conservation Officer. She enjoyed working with her hands in a variety of ways, including crocheting, jewelry making, cooking and working in her garden. Karen was very interested in the archaeology and environment of the American southwest. She was an avid camper and hunter who enjoyed the outdoors.
Karen was an incredibly strong-willed person who bravely fought cancer for many years. She was a loving wife and mother who was extremely proud of her sons. Karen will be sorely missed by all.
She is survived by her husband, Alan Green, Price; sons, Daniel Green, San Francisco, Calif., Michael Green, Lancaster, Penn; four sisters and one brother, Sue Schouten, Oregon, Janine Whaley, Salt Lake City, Janet (Jeff) Grace, Tooele, Leigh Fender, Boise, Idaho, Kevin Whaley, Nebraska; many lifelong friends and neighbors.
Karen was preceded in death by her parents.
Memorial service, Wednesday, March 20, 2013, 2 p.m., Mitchell Funeral Home (233 East Main Street, Price).
