Horse Packing Workshop to be held March 23

The San Rafael Backcountry Horsemen will be hosting a free Horse Packing Workshop on Saturday, March 23 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Carbon County Fairgrounds Indoor Arena.

Those who attend will learn how to pack using various techniques. There will be demonstrations using barrels on saddle stands with plenty of practice time for everyone who would like to give it a try. Those experienced with packing are encouraged to come share their knowledge with others.

Other things that will be discussed at the workshop include learning about packing hitches, leaving no trace camping techniques, how to tie a highline, back country emergency care and much more.
