An early 10 point deficit to start their first playoff game in school history had the Pinnacle High boys basketball team playing from behind all game long as Bryce Valley pulled away in the end for an 87-69 win on Wednesday morning in the first round of the 1A State Tournament.

Bryce Valley started the game on a 10-0 run before Pinnacle got on the board.

The Panthers made a run in the second quarter to cut the deficit to down to single digits but went into halftime trailing 43-34.

Bryce Valley took control of the game with a 24-11 third quarter advantage sending the Panthers to a defeat in their first playoff appearance.

Pinnacle moves to the consolation bracket where they will play Layton Christian today (Feb. 28) at 2:30 p.m. at the Sevier Valley Center in Richfield.
