Tarasina Compagni, a former Price resident, will be returning to her hometown for a concert on Saturday, March 9 at the Price Civic Auditorium at 7 p.m.

The concert will be a mixture of many different forms of music including classical, folk songs, well known operas and more.

"It will be include a little bit of everything," said Compagni.

Compagni grew up in Price and later attended Carbon High School. She went to USU Eastern to begin studying music and finished her education at Southern Utah University.

Her love for music began at a young age as many family members played musical instruments and were involved with bands. Being around all kinds of music while growing up, it quickly became something that she wanted to learn more about.

"I was very drawn to it," said Compagni.

After finishing college, Compagni served in the Peace Corps spending some time in the Caribbean.

Compagni has made Grand Junction, Colo., her home and it is where she has lived for 10 years. During her time there, Compagni has worked with local groups including the Grand Junction Symphony, the Western Colorado Corral, and the High Desert Opera.

The concert on March 9 Compagni's first big concert back in her hometown, she said.

"I'm excited to come back and perform in Price," she said. "It's nice to be able to sing and really show some old friends what I've been up to lately."
