EAST CARBON - It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother, Dorothy Elaine Alexander Routh, age 95, passed away Feb. 22, 2013 at her home while surrounded by her loving family.
She was born in Imperial, Calif., on Nov. 22, 1917 to Lee and Irene Lefler Alexander.
On May 25, 1941, she married Charles Raymond Routh and in 1969 the family moved from Valinda, Calif., to East Carbon. Ray preceded her in death on Feb. 18, 1986.
Dorothy was a 60 year member of the White Shrine Order of the Eastern Star in El Monte, Calif., and Naomi Chapter # 13 of Price, where she held many offices which included Worthy Matron and Grand Officer. Dorothy was a longtime resident of East Carbon where she worked as a lunch lady at Petersen Elementary. She enjoyed going to the East Carbon Senior Center to visit her many friends. Dorothy traveled extensively and she loved going to Canada, Australia, New Zealand and on several cruises. She often reminded everyone that she toured every state except Florida.
Dorothy was an excellent seamstress who loved to sew, crochet and knit special things for her family. One of her favorite past times was going to yard sales and thrift stores. She loved to read and will be dearly missed by all.
Survived by her children, Woody (Shirley) Routh, Huntington Beach, Calif; Lila (Tom) Brunson, Yerington, Nev; Ronnie (Sue) Routh, Clatonia, Neb; Bobby (Brenda) Routh, Paragould, Ark; Lorene (Jim) Miller, East Carbon; son-in-law, George Frank, Chino, Calif; sister, Lucille Alexander, Price; her second family, The Parsons; Eunice Mcfarland her traveling buddy; 27 grandchildren; 56 great-grandchildren; 11 great-great-grandchildren; her beloved dogs Daisy and Rocky.
Preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers Lloyd and Leonard Alexander; daughters, Lubelle Lambert and Lillian Frank; two granddaughters and two great-grandchildren.

Funeral service ,Wednesday, Feb. 27, 2013, 11 a.m., Mitchell Funeral Home (233 East Main Street) Price. Family will be at Mitchell Funeral Home Wednesday one hour prior to services.
