Utah private landowners are encouraged to submit 2013 applications by March 15 to USDA's Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) for participation in the Farm and Ranchland Protection Program (FRPP). The Farm and Ranchland Protection Program is available this year and provides funding for permanent conservation easements on agricultural land. NRCS provides up to 50 percent of the appraised fair market value of the conservation easement in this voluntary program. Eligible cooperating entities must match that amount which may include landowner donations as part of the match.

For more information about these programs, visit your local USDA Service Center or go online to www.ut.nrcs.usda.gov/programs/frpp or contact Jeff Williams, jeff.williams@ut.usda.gov, (801) 524-4254.
