Fall of the Church

Pope Benedict is stepping down from the position of most high in the Church. He explains age as the factor but goes on to say "After having repeatedly examined my conscience before God... I have come to the certainty that my strengths are no longer suited to an adequate exercise of the Petrine Ministry" "However, in today's world, subject to so many rapid changes and shaken by questions of deep relevance for the life of faith..." "I have had to recognize my incapacity to adequately fulfill the ministry entrusted to me."

Add to this to the news coming out of the Vatican requesting more leniency towards homosexual relations, same sex marriage, abortion, free birth control medication, and the cover-up of child abuse by church priests, it becomes easy to read between the lines. Pope Benedict XVI, coming from the old school of Bible beliefs, doesn't want to be, nor would I want to be, the head of a faltering church.

This smacks the church reminiscent of when Jesus tossed the money changers tables and through out the Pharisee's Priests.

The Bible tells us of the fall of the 'Church' in the end times. Is this one more Bible prophesy coming true?
