EAST CARBON - Annette Starzel Airhart Van Liere, age 53, passed away Feb. 8, 2013 at her home in East Carbon.
She was born Sept. 14, 1959 in Price to Joe and Joyce Green Starzel.
Married Kurt Airhart in Salt Lake City, later divorced. Married Jacques Van Liere in East Carbon; he passed away on July 15, 2011.
Annette was a beautiful and precious mother, grandmother, sister and friend who has returned home to be with our precious and loving Lord. She was a kind and loving person who will be greatly missed by everyone.
Annette loved to spend time with her grandchildren, whom she adored. She loved having her family and friends visit her. She loved to cook, especially canning her tomatoes and making her special salsa. Annette also enjoyed crocheting, scrap booking, and arts and crafts.
Survived by her daughter, Taya (Jack) Harper, three grandchildren, Casey Jones, Nickholas and Kaia, all of Vernal; brother and sister, Louie (Michelle) Starzel, Betty Jo Franco, both from East Carbon; her extended family of aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews, nieces and great nephews and nieces; and her two cats Raco Beat and Sassy Ann.
Preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Joyce Starzel, husband, Jacques Van Liere; and sisters, Mary Ann Valdez, Evelyn Perez and Doris Van Gerven.
Funeral Mass, Friday, Feb. 15, 2013, 10 a.m., Good Shepherd Catholic Church. Vigil service will be Thursday evening 6 p.m. at the church in East Carbon. Family will be at the church Thursday and Friday one hour prior to services. Committal service, 2:30 p.m., Valley View Memorial Park (4335 West 4100 South), in West Valley.
