What is your stand?

This letter is in regards to the article in the Sun Advocate on January 22 which references the letter sent to the White House concerning our second amendment rights to keep and bear arms.

Mr. Cordova, what exactly is your stance on the federal government coming in and taking the firearms from the citizens of Carbon County? Further what is your stance on the second amendment and the right of Americans to keep and bear arms?

From your statement it sounds like you would be okay with the Obama Administration passing, through executive order, laws that would remove the rights guaranteed in the second amendment allowing law abiding Americans to keep and bear arms.

If that is the case, I think you need to make that known, especially at and around the time of your next election. If this is not the case you need to clarify your statement. I am interested, as I'm sure many of the residents of Carbon and Emery counties are, in knowing what your stance is on the rights of all law abiding Americans to own firearms for both sporting and self defense.

I hope that you will take the opportunity to set the record straight and let the people who elected you know what your stance really is on this issue, as it is not clear.
