The Carbon High Boys Basketball team has high hopes of advancing to the 3A State Tournament in February. They will need to improve their play down the stretch in Region 12 play if they want to make that goal a reality.

The Dinos split two games last week defeating Juab 59-46 at home on Wednesday before falling to North Sanpete 51-43 on Friday night.

In the win over Juab, Carbon was led by Jordan Blanc's 21 points and 10 rebounds. Derek Young added 19 points and 13 rebounds and Dakota Cisneros chipped in 8 points, 5 rebounds and 10 assists.

In the loss to North Sanpete, Carbon fell behind early and the two teams played even over the rest of the game. The Dinos shot just 10-of-19 (53 percent) from the free throw line in the game.

The Dinos (8-8 overall, 1-3 Region 12) will host Delta High on Wednesday night at 7 p.m. at the Carbon High Gymnasium.
