Agriculture producers are invited to attend the 2nd annual Castle Valley Crop School to be held on February 6at 6:00 p.m.

The Crop School will be held at the Carbon County Fair Grounds Event Center. There is no cost to attend and a light dinner will be served before the presentations begin and door prizes will be given away.

Producers will have the opportunity to explore topics including cover and nurse crops, crop rotation practices, soil testing, compaction and the benefits of aeration, surfactants and buffers, bale moisture management, and Russian olive control in fields and along fence lines.

Presentations will be made by Earl Creech, USU Extension Specialist; Ron Patterson, USU Extension Agent; Bruce Wilding, surfactant and buffers expert; and Earl Kennel from Hay Guard.

While the economy is tough on farmers, new methods and better management practices can make a difference in the bottom line. Pesticide License USU Eastern credits will be offered.

Price River Watershed Conservation District is presenting the school along with USU Extension, Intermountain Farmers Association, Mason Machinery, Hay Guard, San Rafael and Green River Conservation Districts and Carbon County.
