Democrats invite applications for Carbon County clerk/auditor

Robert Pero, Carbon County's Clerk/Auditor has accepted a position with the Utah State Tax Commission and will therefore vacate his elected position as Clerk/Auditor.

Pursuant to Utah Code Ann. § 20A-1-508 (2012) and the Carbon Democratic Party Constitution and By-laws, the Party shall submit the name of an interim replacement to the county legislative body.

Persons who are interested in applying for the Clerk / Auditor Interim position shall submit a letter of interest together with a résumé to Jason Llewelyn, Democratic Party Chairman, at the Clerk's Office, 120 East Main Street, Price, Utah 84501 not later than Monday, Jan. 14, at 5:00 p.m.

Eligible candidates are those who are registered Democrats and have been so registered 60 days prior to the last election in November;i.e., September 6, 2012.

The Democratic Party Central Committee is scheduled to meet on January 17, 2013, at 6:00 p.m. at the Courthouse for purposes of nominating a person as interim Clerk / Auditor.
