Representatives of the Southeastern Utah District Health Department make Christmas cash donations to Bikers Against Child Abuse (left) and to the Carbon County Food Bank. During the year, the employees of the Health Department take turns preparing lunch for those who would like to purchase a plate or bowl of soup at $5.00 a person. All of the food prepared is donated by the employee doing the cooking. The money paid for eating the lunch is donated to a charity fund to be used at Christmas time, or during the year for charitable emergencies.

This year, the money was split between BACA and the food bank.

Also, the flu shots at the end of the season are reduced to $10 a shot (from $25) or for those people who can't pay $10, the district accepts two cans of food per shot, to be donated to the food bank. They were able to donate 500 pounds of food from the Price Health Department to the food bank this year. Outreach offices do their own "Food for Flu" and donate to their individual local food banks in Emery County, Grand County, and San Juan County.
