EMERY - Our loving mother Louisa Watson Jewkes Barber, age 76, passed away Saturday, Dec. 22, 2012 in Arizona.
She was born May 12, 1936 in Castle Gate to Lawrence and Bernice Thomas Watson.
Married Merrill G. Jewkes in Salt Lake City, later divorced. Married Eugene Barber, they also divorced.
Louisa was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. For over 20 years, she worked for Kennecott Copper Ray Plant where she was the second female heavy equipment operator every hired . She was well respected and liked by all the employees at Kennecott. Louisa was an avid rock hound who spent countless hours scurring the mountains and deserst in search of the perfect rock. She was a member of the Globe Rock Club.
Mom always stressed the importance of education to her family and at the time of her passing she was attending Arvapia Community College where she was on the deans list.
She is survived by siblings, Gwen Johnson, Kenneth (Manon)Watson, Shirley (Lester) Kruta; Children, Beckie (Mike) Greene, Merrill Brent (Sandra) Jewkes, Trudy Lund (David Miller), Guy (Tina) Jewkes, Jennifer Jewkes and Char; son-in-Law, James Prettyman; step-children Jeannie, Wanda, Mary, Karen, Eugene Barber; 17 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren, and six great-great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Lawrence and Bernice Watson, brothers, Raymond and Donald Watson; daughter, Charla Prettyman; grandson, Robert Wilson Jr., and granddaughter, Ella Mirabile.
Funeral service, Saturday, Dec. 29, 2012, 1 p.m., Emery LDS Ward Chapel. Family will be at the church Saturday one hour prior to services. Interment, Emery City Cemetery.
