PRICE - Our devoted husband, father, friend, neighbor and gentle giant, Robert A. Pike, age 87, passed away peacefully Dec. 20, 2012 at Parkdale Care Center in Price.
He was born May 25, 1925 in Price to Leonard Anthony and Lucille Quinney Pike.
Bob was a tireless worker who began his working career wrapping butter at age eleven at Carbon Ice Cream Company. After schooling, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corp where he was a proud member of the 1st Marine Division. Upon returning from the service, Bob enrolled at Carbon College. On Aug. 21, 1948 he married Charlotte Wisniewski in Las Vegas, Nev. They were married for 61 years before Charlotte's passing on April 29, 2007.
Bob was a Carbon County icon whose most memorable years were shared driving bus for the Carbon School District and working alongside his dear friends at Davis Croft Motors in Price. During those years he touched a great number of people and helped raise many kids along the way. Whether he had a special seat for you on his bus or a kind word to share, Bob always had a special place in his heart for everyone.
He was a faithful member of the United Methodist Church and a life member of Price Elk's Lodge. Bob's years of service have came to an end and he will always be remembered for his generosity and kindness. We will mis you our dear friend, Semper Fi, our departed comrade.
