State Parks has new app for smart phones

Utah State Parks, in partnership with ParksByNature Network, has launched a smart phone application to provide park information to visitors on the go.

Available for most smart phones, users can find interactive GPS and map technology for tracking trails, marking waypoints, and locating landmarks. An alert feature supplies GPS coordinates to designated contacts in case of emergencies.

Other features include the GeoChallenge offering both novice and expert geocachers activities and games guiding them to points of interest; a comprehensive list of activities; calendar of events; park rules and regulations; and a link for camping reservations.
