Helper Policeman Kent Allred acts the role of a bad guy during a demonstration of what Cony the canine officer can do when the dog goes after a non-compliant criminal suspect. Carbon County Sheriff's Deputy Ron Bogdin, the canine's handler, controls the animal at the presentation staged to show children at Sally Mauro Elementary how police personnel handle certain kinds of emergency situations. One part of the educational program presented at the elementary school in Helper involved a practical demonstration of the equipment law enforcement authorities and emergency crews use in their daily jobs. Also included was an emergency unit from the Helper City Fire Department. As a full-time police officer and city fire department volunteer, Allred donned two hats for the program. Allred explained the basic functions of the fire truck and operation of the police cruiser equipment to the students
