Carbon County is now accepting sealed bids for the provision of
workers' compensation insurance and related services from a licensed
Utah insurance broker or provider. All bids must name the licensed
insurer proposed to provide coverage, terms and conditions of
coverage, and the rates to be charged, along with all other costs to
the County. Bids should propose a length of term for the contract,
and should describe any contract renewal terms. Bids should include a
description of all benefits, incentives, and services that will be
provided. Bids should include information about any
educational/training programs to be provided by the insurer on topics
such as safety, claim placement and handling, etc., and the cost,
location, and availability of such training.
Bids are due at the Carbon County Clerk's office at 120 East Main,
Price, Utah 84501, prior to 5:00 p.m. December 18, 2012, and should
clearly indicate on the outside envelope, "Workers' Compensation
Insurance Bid". Bids will be opened 4:30 p.m., December 19, 2012,
during the regularly scheduled Carbon County Commission meeting at the
County Courthouse, 120 East Main Street, Price Utah.
Carbon County is not responsible for bids that are received late due
to delays in delivery by any source. Faxed bids are not accepted.
Carbon County reserves the right to reject any or all bids, and to
waive any informality of any bid. The County Commission will award the
contract to the bidder most likely to provide the best product and
service in light of the proposed cost. The successful bidder will not
be chosen solely on the lowest rate or lowest cost. For more
