A cheerleading workshop for youth ages 4-15 years will be offered by College of Eastern Utah's cheer, yell and song leading squads on Saturday, Feb. 2 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the BDAC.
Basic and advanced cheerleading and dance skills will be taught along with motion techniques, jumps, gymnastics and chants plus sideline cheer and dance routines.
"The workshop will be good for any student who wants to learn the sport of cheerleading from the basic to advanced techniques. We will work with the younger participants to teach them basic skills. We will also private coach the older students who plan to tryout for area junior and senior high squads on proper techniques for jumps, gymnastics, pyramids, dances and chants," explained Susan Polster, cheerleading advisor.
Cost for the one-day workshop is $20 with each participant receiving an official CEU cheerleading T-shirt, certificate of participation and the opportunity of performing during halftime at the CEU men's basketball game that evening.
