Juniors Croasmun and Cornforth combine for 24 points in 45-28 victory over Pine View

After losing seven seniors from last year's team, including 2011-12 3A MVP Miranda Averett, this year's Carbon High girls basketball team could have expected to start things a little slower this season with so many new players in the lineup.

Apparently the Lady Dinos ignored that thought.

The Lady Dinos pressed and confused Pine View through a first half that saw the Lady Dinos build up a big lead on their way to a 45-28 victory in their 2012-13 season opener.

Wasting no time, the Lady Dinos jumped out to a 16-4 lead after the first quarter and led 27-9 at halftime.

The Lady Dinos slowed down a little bit in the second half but head coach Ted Bianco used his timeouts to keep his team from backing down when Pine View made a run.

Juniors Shailee Croasmun and Shelby Cornforth each scored 12 points to help lead the scoring attack for the Lady Dinos.

The Lady Dinos will travel down south to take on rival Emery High tonight at 7 p.m.
